Project details

What we need
  • Visual branding guidelines/style guide in .pdf and/or print format that includes specific colors, primary and secondary typefaces, minimum size and buffer space for logo, examples of incorrect logo usage, and any other graphic design elements, to guide use in print and digital communications materials
Additional details

Established non profit with limited branding currently. We do have a recognizable logo design but would like to establish brand synchronicity for social media, general community awareness, fundraising, etc.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a logo which should make it easier for you to get started. I am also the lead on this project and ready to communicate our goals in hopes they can align with the talents of the volunteer. We are generally starting from scratch here so open to hearing ideas. We primarily service the homeless community and are looking for branding that is meaningful and recognizable throughout the population we serve as well as other organizations and businesses in the community.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to redirect those funds directly to client services.

We want to increase access, fundraising initiatives, and community awareness so we can continue working towards our mission of serving the homeless.

Our mission

Community Home and Supports Inc. is a nonprofit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.

At Community & Home Supports, Inc. our purpose is:

(a) To empower families to be able to live Self-Determined lives in their community

(b) To provide support to individuals, organizations and communities in order to assist individuals and families to achieve greater independence.

What we do

Advocacy: We have expertise in areas such as initial contact and assessment with homeless and at risk households; landlord/tenant law; and federal, state, and local homeless policies and regulations. We use our expertise to advocate for individuals; ensuring that they know and understand their rights and that they receive the services they're eligible for in an appropriate manner.

Coordinated Entry: The Detroit CoC's coordinated entry system is called the Coordinated Assessment Model (CAM). CHS is the frontrunner for Resource Navigation services in the Detroit CoC in conjunction with the CAM Lead Agency, Southwest Solutions. In this role, we are responsible to meet with any household that enters a Detroit CoC shelter, assess their service needs, assist them with acquiring vital documents (social security card, I.D., etc.), and refer them to a CoC agency that can provide them financial and supportive services. CHS has provided these services since January 2015; thereby, playing a critical role creating the current process, policies and procedures, best practices, and continuous quality improvement of housing navigation services and housing quality in the Detroit CoC. We are committed to using data-driven solutions to be able to provide the highest level of housing counseling services to the highest volume of clients by using HMIS and comparable data bases to provide critical system analysis and triage.

Housing and Support: CHS provides formerly homeless households ongoing financial support for monthly housing costs. These households also receive assistance with supportive services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, healthy living counseling, tenancy management, budget and financial counseling, and other services based on their needs. The ultimate goals for each household we service are empowerment and independence.

Low Income Housing: We own and manage a low income tax credit housing located on Hubbell Ave., just north of puritan in Detroit, MI. The property has 11 residential units that are rented out at a below market value rate to low income households in need of stable, safe, and affordable housing. We also own and are redeveloping several adjacent properties and have partnered with local businesses and residents during this process in an effort to participate in reducing neighborhood blight.
